Three-Stage Adhesive Coating Line for Automotive Parts
ANGEM designed and manufactured this PL240-DBY3115MF automatic chain adhesive spray coating line for a Chinese automotive parts manufacturer. The system combines preheating, primer application, two cover-coat stages and multi-stage hot-air drying in one continuous process. Its 240 chain-mounted rotating fixtures and 15 spray guns support efficient, consistent coating of rubber-to-metal components.

Integrated Coating Process
Manual Loading
Operators manually load the prepared metal parts onto the chain-mounted rotating fixtures.
Preheating
The workpieces are preheated at a controlled temperature before primer application.
Primer Spraying
Fixed and servo-driven spray guns apply the primer while the workpieces rotate for uniform coverage.
Primer Drying
The primer-coated parts pass through the hot-air drying section before the first cover coat.
First Cover-Coat Spraying
The first cover coat is automatically applied in an independent spray booth with adjustable spray parameters.
Intermediate Drying
The first cover coat is dried by controlled hot-air circulation before the next coating stage.
Second Cover-Coat & Final Drying
A second cover coat is applied, followed by final hot-air drying at a controlled temperature of up to 120°C.
Manual Unloading
Operators remove the fully coated and dried workpieces from the line for the next production process.
Key System Configuration
Three-Stage Adhesive Coating
Three independent coating zones are configured for primer, first cover coat and second cover coat application, supporting a complete multi-layer adhesive coating process.
Triple Adhesive Supply System
Three independent 40 L diaphragm-pump supply systems serve the primer and two cover-coat sections. Integrated weighing, pneumatic agitation and level alarms help maintain stable adhesive delivery.
15-Gun Hybrid Spray System
Each coating zone includes three fixed spray guns and two vertically moving spray guns. A total of 15 independently controlled spray guns provide flexible coverage for different part geometries.
Electric Hot-Air Drying System
Electric heaters and circulating fans provide controlled preheating and intermediate drying from ambient temperature to 120°C, supporting reliable drying between coating stages.
240-Station Chain & Rotation System
The double-row chain incorporates 240 rotating fixtures at 127 mm intervals. The workpieces can rotate in both directions during spraying for consistent, all-around coating coverage.
Intelligent Quality & Safety Control
An Omron PLC and touchscreen manage cycle time, spray duration, temperature and operating modes. Color sensors, spray-gun pressure monitoring, access-card permissions and safety interlocks improve process control and production safety.
